EXAMINATION OF APOPTOTIC CHANGES IN AROMATIC HYDROCARBON BENZENE ADMINISTERED RAT TESTICULAR TISSUE WITH HISTOPATHOLOGICAL METHODS

Objectives: Benzene is an aromatic hydrocarbon and a colorless odorous liquid. It used in the production of plastics, detergents, pesticides, other chemicals. Serious deterioration seen sperm men who are exposed to hydrocarbons such as ethyl benzene, toluene, xylene also solvents found paints, lacquers, adhesive-like substances their professions. The aim this study examine possible effects benzene on testicular tissues via histopathological TUNEL staining methods.
 Methods: In study, healthy 18 Wistar albino male rats, with mean age 8-10 weeks weighing 250-300 g were used. Rats divided into 3 groups; Group I was sham group. II administered 1 ml/kg for 9 days III 1.5 5 orogastric tube. At end experiment, rats decapitated, removed. Stained Haematoxylin Eosin, Johnsen scoring performed each Apoptosis demonstrated method, marked Image J program statistical analysis performed.
 Results: thinning seminiferous tubule epithelium cytoplasmic vacuoles, affusion lumen spermatogenic cells (desquamation), degenerative changes germ (spermatogonia), structures, disorganized interstitial absence epithelial integrity observed. Compared control group, revealed significant increase apoptotic tubules staining. 
 Conclusion: thought that exposure resulted degeneration increased tissues.
